Video of German sysadmins learning they've been pwned by the NSA (2014)
- dralley 5y agoThe video description explicitly says "British Spies", not the NSA.
- meowster 5y agoI flagged it when your comment was just a few minutes old in hopes that dang would fix the editorialization of the title, but alas it was not to be.
- grzm 5y agoThe best way to get the mods' attention is to email them using the contact link in the footer. In my experience they're quite responsive. Just flagging it won't provide them context as to why it was flagged.
- frijole 5y agoIt was a joint operation, "Five Eyes", where multiple countries including the US and UK were found to be spying on their citizens through internet-sea cables, among other things.
- cheif-lama 5y agoYou must be American
- ipnon 5y agoComplacency is the bane of security. If you aren't at least trying to preserve your privacy, you are getting pwned. You can see this in the simple dictionary passwords this service provider used.
- nanis 5y agoNote Ali Fares is visibly more upset. He is likely from Turkey or a similar place and he probably thought he would not end up being the target of something like this in Germany.
- freemint 5y agoWere the Snowden revelation really so long ago? I still remember how these relevations shock up my youth and made me look critically towards the USA.
- stuaxo 5y agoHas to be one of the worst days of that sysadmins career.
