A lot of humanities disciplines in grad school are quite explicit about preparing students for one thing: scholarship. The end goal is tenure-track research positions. They're not industry focused at all, though that is changing in recent years with the adjunct crisis really starting to hit quite a high note.
I will say though, that I know a lot of people with MAs in Art History who work in museums, galleries, art dealers and markets, conservation and restoration projects. The experience in research and scholarship is useful for museums and other art institutions. I imagine every modern curator has a grad degree in art or art history.
