When the dust settles, I'll be interested to see of Australia does come out ahead of other countries. Personally, it seems worse for a lot of the countries that had delayed waves of Covid, because they got all the infrastructure, or at least political will, to over react to it in place before it came. If this dramatically changes the outcomes, maybe it has some value, but if it just means people get to live under a practiced and better organized violation of their liberties, then I'm happy I was closer to the initial wave.
