Clean jet fuel needs to be more like a microwave oven
- PaulHoule 5y agoGreen jet fuel is 50 years behind other synthetic fuels. Everybody else has given up on Fischer-tropsch chemistry (where you are stuck balancing the tendency of polymerization to go explosively and of breaking hydrocarbons down to methane running quickly at high temperatures — you work really hard to get a trickle of fuel out of a big and expensive machine.) If they wanted to get somewhere they would give up on the billionaire talk and go to single entity fuels such as 1-butanol and DME like everybody else. (E.g. cars and trucks)
