I don't know... I thought it all seemed pretty plausible. Given a few different turns in history, and the entire premise is pretty believable. Even aspects like the feminism push could be seen as a likely outcome of further US/Soviet competition... and it's presented cynically in the show to that effect. As far as alternative histories go, it's much more plausible than the Man in the High Castle.
