On my email forwarding app https://hanami.run https://hanami.run we offer both method to give user access to their email: 1. webhook with retry up to 7 days. 2. a REST api to fetch all data Sending webhook out properly require lots of effort, especially idempotent key concept to avoid duplicate data. And control concurency to avoid swarming the webhook endpoint. So at the end of day, both are require same amount of resources, either on the sender side or the receiver side.
