I never knew that about exhaust velocity. So as propellant mass efficiency goes up linearly, power use goes up exponentially? does that make fast interstellar travel impossible?
- petschge 5y agoNot exponentially. That would be exp(v). But quadratically, which is faster than linear. I would really hope that at least here people would know that exponentially names a particular function and is not a synonym for "fast".
