- rob74 5y agoI can imagine that many hallways in many fully mundane and fully inhabited buildings across the world look far more depressing. This is in Japan after all...
- malwarebytess 5y agoYou must not have lived in very many places. A whole lot of high rise apartment buildings in big cities have dilapidated or oppressive common spaces (and private living spaces.) I'm not sure why these pods failed, but I imagine it was probably down to cost or practicality rather than some fundamental 'ergonomic' problem making it undesirable in comparison to the similarly shaped and sized apartments that do exist.
