A lot of hobbies have this kind of complex details that are simply not practical or possible to automate away.
For example, I have recently got into long distance rimfire rifle shooting. Every serious shooter there keeps a DOPE (data on previous engagements and/or data on personal equipment) card with the specific holdovers at given ranges. This data can be shared, but is of little utility because every single rifle and batch of ammunition is just a little bit different.
Would it be nice if I could just buy a card that says what I should hold over at what range? Heck yes. But it's just not possible to produce that. So beginners have to go out and learn it themselves, which is hard and discouraging to newcomers.
