Why do waiters in US restaurants give you bill even if you do not ask for it?
- leed25d 5y agoWhen they do that at my table, I lower the tip percentage
- ragingrobot 5y agoIt feels like one is being pushed out the door. The only time I accept this behavior is when the place is busy. If it's half empty, I feel it's unnecessary.
- void_mint 5y ago"how dare they ask me to pay for the food I've eaten..."
- leed25d 5y agoHow dare they push me
- void_mint 5y agoThe arrogance of this comment is astounding.
- AnimalMuppet 5y agoWell, if the place is busy, and you want to keep the table (which means other customers can't use it), then it seems fair that you would have to rent the table. Do you want to not be pushed, but charged by the minute for the table?
- underseacables 5y agoThey want the tip and then they want you to leave. I would conservatively guessed it only about 15% of food servers in America actually enjoy their job, the rest tolerate to loath it. Turnover is king when you’re dependent upon tips, get rid of the tips, and you might get rid of this behavior of pushing you out the door.
- readflaggedcomm 5y agoTo avoid becoming a waste of time to blame, when the customer is forced to wait for it. Being shamed by this convenience is not in a waiter's control.
