I agree with author on that this flight, this industry is not - primarily - about science.
It is definitely useful for science, though in a roundabout way. But primarily it's for society. Apollo project was chiefly political - yet it keeps inspiring people, young minds and others, to look up differently. Which converts to very real dollars and science.

- cyanydeez 5y agoif it were governmrnt managed, you could use govdrnmrnt projects to compare, but none of these private companies success will anyway equate to broader success, but more nooses of private ownership in a threat to atonomy, especially when theres much greater problsms like climate change
