Though my dad was an engineer and there were always computers in our house, Lego was my first exposure to programming. The summer after third grade in the late 1980's I took a two week course at the local community college that had programable Lego Dacta sets. They worked with Apple II or IBM PC and had an ISA card that interfaced to an I/O box that could control motors or read input from switches or an opto sensor. You programmed them in a language called Lego TC Logo. Things have come a long way since then.
