Yet California claims to "follow the science" and that it's "not going against CDC recommendations."
there is zero reason to put masks on kids in schools. this is absolutely ridiculous at this point.
- jjeaff 5y agoThe science indicates that everyone will be safer wearing a mask. So it's not anti-science. It's just overly cautious and mostly unnecessary.

Young kids have a low chance of getting serious symptoms (though Delta has been impacting adolescents and older more than prior variants), but have been shown to get and transmit COVID as much as older people, so there is a public health reason even if there isn't a strong reason (especially at younger ages) for the kids own protection.
