Right to repair movement growing in Australia
- moneytide1 5y ago"The Brave Little Toaster" occupied my childhood media consumption regimen in the 1990s. This series assigned personalities to common household appliances and the troupe's "scary final boss" is a magnetized lifter in the junkyard.
- Proven 5y ago"Right to repair" doesn't exist. There are property rights. If something is yours, you can do whatever you want with it. (If you're leasing or licensing someone's property, you may not have rights to do whatever you want with the thing). What you can't do is mess up a product that's under warranty and then ask the manufacturer or their service representative to fix it for you for free (or at a government-determined price). But this is what the fake right to repair is - simply a tax on all buyers and manufacturers, meant to subsidize techno-socialists. The same group of people who think web-and-mail users should subsidize their symmetric 25G Internet connections.
