Steve Wozniak: Bitcoin Is ‘Mathematical Miracle’
- stevenalowe 5y agoUm sorry Steve but "This is a great investment...for you, not for me" is not convincing.
- x3sphere 5y agoThe article doesn't mention it but he also used to own BTC. He sold all of it during the previous bull run.
- stevenalowe 5y ago“I do not invest in Bitcoin, but I believe in it for the future,” Wozniak said during a presentation at Talent Land Jalisco You can’t have it both ways. If he believes in it why did he cash out? This fails the smell test for me. YMMV
- atatatat 5y agoMore confidence in your ability to make more money in a different investment is all the explanation you deserve(?).
- retrac 5y agoI have to say, I don't grok the people who aren't at least intellectually impressed by Satoshi's insight. Anyone could have thought of it in the last 40 years really... all the pieces were there. And it's almost downright obvious in hindsight. But no one did until 2009. A distributed and immutable public ledger by decentralized consensus without trust. It was a stroke of genius. A mathematical miracle, if you will. Perhaps one day we'll find a real-world use for it. (/s?)
- browningstreet 5y agoIt’s overshadowed by all the weirdness of crypto currencies since. The tweets for the various currencies, the constant “I know something you don’t”, the pumping of pie in the sky futures and secret crypto societies… figure that’s the appreciation for what magic Bitcoin and the like are based on. The lack of fundamental real-world use allows for the super magical thinking.
- motioncuty 5y agoWhere do people get off with this no real world use argument. There are traditional financial institutions at this very moment using ethereum, private blockchains, to run financial services.
