From my knowledge, there is no "Ch19" for ham, so you end up scanning a lot. Not ideal while travelling.

That used to be the case, the last time I used a CB on the road was over a decade ago and it was a great source of road info. But I recently installed a CB for a long road trip I was making (mostly on I-5 up and down the west coast) and was disappointed by the silence, there was very little chatter by truckers, even when there was a cop in the median running radar and another time when there was an accident, the only reason I knew about it was from Waze, there was nothing on the CB. From my knowledge, there is no "Ch19" for ham, so you end up scanning a lot Most ham bands have a "calling frequency" which is the equivalent of CB channel 19, for VHF it's 146.520MHz and for UHF 446.000MHz
