The Private Life of a Cat (2020)
- podiki 5y agoIt being jstor, I was expecting some intriguing paper of what house cats get up to when no one is looking...
- tgb 5y agoLike this one, where they put cameras and GPS on cats? https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-22821639 https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-22821639 Or this one: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0006320713000189 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S00063... > Twenty-three percent of cat prey items were returned to households; 49% of items were left at the site of capture, and 28% were consumed.
- thrower123 5y agoThe answer is always murder... Go away for a weekend in the summer, and come back to an abattoir on the living room rug.
- csunbird 5y agoI think, the murders are mostly for either to reduce competition or to hone hunting skills, although I am not an expert.
- podiki 5y agoYes, thank you!
- phaemon 5y agoUseless use of cat
- useragent86 5y agoSir, you win the Internet today. :)
- telesilla 5y agoThe 22 minute (silent) film is very sweet https://youtu.be/_6e1O_NtK24 https://youtu.be/_6e1O_NtK24
- pugworthy 5y agoHere's another page that describes it a bit and also has the entirety of the film. https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/the-private-life-of-a-cat-ca-1945 https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/the-private-life-o...
- Stratoscope 5y agoAnother favorite of mine from that era is Three Little Kittens, a story of working cats. https://archive.org/details/ThreeLit1938 https://archive.org/details/ThreeLit1938
- cherka 5y agoThank you. Went down quite a rabbithole re Maya Deren.
- rurban 5y agoBut this film is credited to Sasha Hammid. Who was the real genius in their collaborations.
- Causality1 5y agoDammit I always fall for these. An intriguing title that links to some tedious biography that addresses the title concept briefly if at all.
- sdwr 5y agoIt's good bait. The vague, unassuming titles turn up gems as often as they do crud. Compare with the other cat-related title on the front page right now.
- joverholt 5y agoI’ve always found this one closer to reality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1zYF0cejmg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1zYF0cejmg
- WalterBright 5y agoI've put TheCat through extensive ninja training so she can defend the house against intruders. So far, when someone comes in she just sidles up and asks for Doritos. Failing that, she waddles over to resume her vigil at TheCatFeeder.
- rurban 5y agoThat's a classic short film from the 40s, often screened at film festivals or film schools.
