Open-plan office noise increases stress and worsens mood: we've measured (cont)
- musicale 5y agoGreat to see someone actually studying this and (unsurprisingly) finding out what anyone who has had to work in an open-plan office knows all to well. This is sorely needed work and there are many opportunities for follow-on studies! Since this study was a simulation, I'd like to see some studies comparing actual open plan offices with other work environments, notably cubicles, walled offices, home offices (both for people who do and do not have to care for household members), and other shared work environments such as labs, libraries, cafés, etc..
- ilrwbwrkhv 5y agoIt's widely known open plans are bad. Companies do this to save on money. This is the same as builders selling condos with loft look, another gimmick to just save money.
- kimchidude 5y agoI essentially can't function in an open office plan. It's all an act when I'm trying to operate in one.
