- jfengel 5y agoI just checked. I had ~200 spams in my folder (they dump those older than 30 days). That's down from tens of thousands in the past. I doubt that people have stopped spamming; I think they're just dropping the really hyper-obvious ones (e.g. with viruses). Of that ~200, exactly 1 was incorrect -- an automated out-of-office email in response to a MailChimp mass email. That's not spam; it's just boring. There were several dozen messages from the Red Cross that shouldn't be spam, but I've unsubscribed numerous times and still get them. (They even say "you've already unsubscribed".) So I finally started marking them as spam. I think I may have received one or two false negatives in my inbox in that past month, but overall they seem to be doing a really good job. I dunno why my experience is so different from yours. This is a very old email address which must be in every spammer's database by now.
