Godot is solid for 2D games, but a bit weaker for 3D, especially if you want to match the render quality of AAA games. My understanding is that you can create AAA-level 3D games with O3DE. The way I see it is Godot is an alternative to Unity, O3DE might be an alternative to Unreal.
