- Lio 5y agoGlad to see there’s a push for this now. For a longtime I’ve had a growing “do we really need all this?” feeling about web dev. For example, I wish I worked on more projects that dumped CSS templating languages for plain CSS and custom properties.
- DanielKehoe 5y agoI'm Daniel Kehoe, author of the cited article (or polemic, or rant, if you like). "We've been busy doing web development an older/harder way so we haven't even noticed there's a new, easier way." Six months since I've written the article and there's a slow growing awareness that web components have some value. But by and large, many developers will still spin up create-react-app to build the simplest web app.
