A Tsunami of Disability Is Coming as a Result of ‘Long Covid’
- guilhas 5y agoComing or already here? Millions of people were already infected a year ago, and now the rest is mostly vaccinated. So where are they coming from? Do the vaccines prevent it? Or is it a long haul side effect from the emergency approved vaccines? ...Using breaking and not widely tested mRNA technology
- aliasEli 5y agoThere are multiple reports that indicate the 'Long Covid' is a very real phenomenon. Because COVID is still a pretty new decease, it is difficult to estimate what the really long-term (say 5 or 10 years) problems are. One of the technical problems with researching this issue is that in many countries there is no national registration of the health problems of patients that were infected. For the health effects of the vaccines many countries do have some form of central registration.

- stuntkite 5y agoNot from where I’m sitting. My advice to everyone is to not get sick.
- stuntkite 5y agoAnecdotal, but this is my life is now. What appears to be permanent focus issues, emotional regulation problems, and I feel like I’ve got something the size and shape of a dinner plate in my chest that barely shows up on x-rays. Some days I can’t feel it too much, but other times I can. Also I had a heart attack. I’m 37 and was otherwise healthy. I’d guess it probably took 10+ years off my life and really changed me. Who knows what the actual long term problems are going to be.
- mouth 5y agoI am sorry to hear about your situation. I have read about others with long COVID finding relief after being vaccinated or catching it again. While I cannot in good faith recommend anyone attempting to catch COVID for a second time, I am curious if you were vaccinated after your bout, and if so, did it have an impact.
- stuntkite 5y agoI am vaccinated and have had no significant improvement. I’m not worse though, so that’s pretty good.
- mrkramer 5y agoWhat prior underlying conditions you had? Do you have a healthy lifestyle? Smoking, alcohol? What is your BMI? (your weight compared to your height) Do you have a family history of pulmonological and/or cardiovascular pathology? These are the questions you need to ask yourself and your doctor and seek further treatment.
- stuntkite 5y agoWell, aren’t you obnoxious? What part of x-rays and otherwise healthy confused you there? I don’t intend to post my medical records here, but I assure you I take my health seriously and have consulted with my doctor.
- mrkramer 5y agoI didn't demand your personal information I wrote down the questions that every doctor asks a patient. Those questions are crucial in understanding any kind of disease.
- stuntkite 5y agoYeah. We are working on it. No one knows much about COVID long haul. It varies a lot person to person, they still don’t understand the underlying mechanisms. It’s triage. It sucks. Don’t get sick.
- paulddraper 5y agoRidiculous.
