What alternative approaches did you try? Would loading a placeholder image for the map and transitioning it in when ready help?

  That was my thought load a lowres fast image and lazy load the map

  Unless I recal incorrectly, LCP will finish when changes to that area are finished. So a placeholder is used, it will be pointless. loading=lazy can actually negatively impact LCP
