- tobyhinloopen 5y agoWhy, what’s so special about the “old” switch?
- markus92 5y agoSoC has a bootloader exploit which makes it great for homebrew.
- squeaky-clean 5y agoAs far as I know, not every original SOC switch has this exploit, just ones from the first year of production or so. There are tools to lookup your serial number and see if you have a valid model. My switch has the homebrew exploit, but none of my friends' switches do, and they're all the first switch model but mine was purchased a few months earlier than the others.
- zeitg3ist 5y agoIt has an unpatchable hardware exploit that allows it to run unsigned stuff, IIRC.
- tobyhinloopen 5y agoCool, maybe I’ll keep my old one then. I bought it at release
