Non-tech people aren't going to ever be able to set something like that up on their own and keep it working. I don't even want so mess with stuff like that. I do that all day at work, I neither have the time or motivation to worry about messing with more tech after work. Also, I would suggest not port forwarding ssh directly to an internal machine. Use a VPN and then ssh.
