- PaulHoule 5y ago(1) 1000 shots is aspirational for that thing's barrel but nowhere near enough to realize its potential (super cheap compared to a missile but good enough velocity to midcourse intercept IRBMs if not ICBMs) (2) The hypervelocity projectile itself is in "development hell"; they gave up on fielding it from a conventional gun on the Zumwalt class destroyer. It also defies "cheaper than missiles".
