I quite appreciate the reports. I normally don't follow the linux kernel development, but the possible support of Rust is one major step for the kernel which is hugely interesting.
The Linux kernel has become one of the most, if not the most important piece of IT infrastructure. Progress of any further developments of it as well as the security itself are prime concerns for all users. So far the development was solely limited to C, with all the tradeoffs. It is highly interesting to see whether a more modern language can be incorporated and the Rust effort looks very promising. Both from the language capabilities as well as the progress being made.
