It's been a long time since I've seen a 4chan raid, and they are always ruthless. The author of the fork's comment sounds about right. This isn't cancel culture though, this is older and angrier.
- read_if_gay_ 5y ago> This isn't cancel culture Sounds about the same to me, except 4chan doesn’t pretend they’re doing good when they dox people.
- smegcicle 5y ago"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
- Lex-KZ 5y agoI'm not defending cancel culture by any means. 4chan has just been doing what they're doing longer.
