PTOD (paper title of the day) winner.
I can grasp this refers to microscopic reconfigurable optics, but I have indistinguishable-from-zero sense of the scale or any sort of practical application. Can someone provide a sci-fi illustration?
- ggm 5y agoPure optical switching is hard. MEMS might permit unamplified optical crossbar switching so no optical- electrical-optical delay and buffering. Optical interconnects for chip stacks could use one-time collimation to align the channels maybe?
