Creator of the fork here. Had some troubles, as we (and I personally, and my loved ones) were hit by a 4chan raid. Take the comments in the issues on GitHub with a grain of salt, it's impossible to get ahead of this. Need to wait for things to cool down to be able to organize everything later. Anyways, AMA or something :)

    Yeah the author deleted the tweet moments after I asked the question... I thought I messed up the link but that doesn't seem to be the case. I just found it rather scary how these 4chan trolls are able to find his pinephone number despite it not being on his website or any of his social media.

Hello, long time (occasional) user of audacity here, who doesn't mind opt-in telemetry but surely is very angry at opt-out telemetry! What's your personal view (and that of others reading this thread) on software freedom and how to develop free software? I'm glad you people went with libera.chat and not Telegram. IRC is standard tech that can be bridged from Matrix/XMPP (and others). But what about github? I don't think github is fit for free software development (being a centralized, non-free platform) but i understand the argument that everybody's on there. More specifically, do you have infrastructure for the website/CI/CD so you don't have to rely on Github Pages/Actions?

One more question: what's your take on reproducible builds? I'm personally interested in systems like GNU/guix and NixOS which are functional package managers. It seems like a good fit to get started to build binary builds in a reliable manner. Are you familiar with such tech? (or someone from your team)

    Not a big fan of this whole situation, but this just sounds like a 5-yo's lie. Unless you provide anything that proves the whole doxing and calling situation, I doubt anyone would believe you. Edit: Sorry, posted the previous message from a wrong account and used harsh language.
