Worked at a place that put diversity first. Hiring straight white males was only done with extreme reluctance. The work itself was afterthought to everything else. Product was badly built but enforced fairness abounded at every step of the process. Major problem they faced was the pool of qualified experienced candidates who had a real passion for tech while meeting the diversity checklist was very small. Raising daughters I’ve been trying hard to get them some competence in tech. They like it, mostly enjoy that I spend time with them. But horses and makeup is 90% of what they talk about.
