My goals are the same. Get buff. Get good at the drums. Start a business. Grow a proper beard. Just that since having kids there’s not much time to work on them. Obviously I don’t regret any of it.
- pestaa 5y agoHow strange, my beard decides to grow when I don't pay it any attention. But of course I now have to look up what 'proper' beards are.
- pjbeam 5y agoMine does too but I find that investing time in nuanced grooming of my beard is often a bridge too far now that I'm on kid #3. These days it's let it grow out until wife complains, shave, repeat.
- ramtatatam 5y agoYou guys are so lucky your beards grow without you doing anything special. I'd love to have proper thick beard instead of patchy and, well, funny-looking :)
- spidersouris 5y agoHave you managed to grow a proper beard yet?
- dave_sid 5y agoNah I think that dream has passed!
- glouwbug 5y agoGetting buff is a good goal. With work from home, squat-deadlift heavy mornings are viable when you can toss 6 eggs on the pan for lunch. More of HN should lift in my opinion
- dave_sid 5y agoAbsolutely! It’s so good for your well-being
- paulcole 5y agoIsn’t it funny how the things we like we also believe more people should do?
- glouwbug 5y agoI'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but the benefits of a strong well kept body will improve your quality of life in almost every single way. I'm speaking loosely in terms of mobility, mood, relationships, health, creative expression, and mental capacity. The pillars of civilization were built on strong moving bodies. The human body was not built as a vessel for the brain to sit in a dark room behind a computer to clack away at a keyboard
