I’m not surprised to see that this movement was censored by the authorities in China while it was still small. It seems like the kind of approach that would broadly make sense for overworked Chinese laborers but would severely undermine the CCP’s aggressive ambitions. I hope these young people find a way to communicate and spread their perspectives outside of social media, but the reality is that communication offline will be drowned out by counter communication online. It’s why deplatforming and censorship are so scary regardless of whether it’s a private American company that does it or a state government like the CCP. Ultimately these young people will need to silently take on positions of power within the party to change the party.
