As I understand it someone who had the appearance of a naked man was walking around openly in a single sex area. This made someone uncomfortable, and now there are protests. I sympathize with the rights of transgender people but what about the rights of non-trans people? If a woman is in a single sex area should she be forced to see male genitalia?
Perhaps the solution is a third area for gender neutral. Otherwise someone’s rights will be violated and it’s ethically and morally wrong to say one person’s rights are more important than someone’s else's in such a private space.
Perhaps this was another Jessica Yaniv-style disingenuous provocation.

He also apparently concocted a ruse to coerce women working as hair-waxers to handle his genitals, and to extract money damages from them if they refused. It’s easy to imagine that the man in the salon had similar motives, exploiting California’s bizarre new law to parade naked in front of young girls.
