Audacity is a simple program and needs no updates.
- jacquesm 5y agoAs a frequent user: Audacity is anything but simple.
- selfhoster11 5y agoI disagree. You likely want to evolve the plugin API over time to let people implement more effects, you need to update to keep up with the preferred audio API for each platform (Windows, Linux and Mac each have at least one), and you need to support new input/output formats. Without that, Audacity will be we useful as any abandonware application - likely works, but will limit the way of working in the modern world.
