The reason it is controversial is because people who perform experiments on non-human animals are supposed to have be able to justify the necessity of doing such experiments, and "I was curious" is just not good enough. I expect the reason the birth rates are down in these countries is sociological. There are already too many people, I don't think we need more. There are literally millions of children in the world who need adopting.
- throw63788 5y agoAllowing transwomen and gay couples to have children seems like pretty good reason. If researches would dress-up their research in western rhetoric, they would be applauded.
- Igelau 5y agoThat doesn't seem like a good reason as long as there are children who need adoption and foster care.
- inglor_cz 5y agoYou can bury the entire IVF field with such arguments. The good reason is that many people want their own children and though you might find their desire immoral, they are not bound to accept your morality standards.
