Writing headlines is difficult. My immediate question when I read this one was: Which factor is the cause of the surge in hospitalizations in the UK? I knew that the delta variant was spreading in the UK, but apparently that was not the cause. Perhaps a new variant? The truth is that there is no surge in hospitalizations, but perhaps some minor increase. So the existing vaccines also give a decent amount of protection against the delta variant.
