Kyoto and the ryokan experience is incredible. I will go for the rest of my life.

  I lived in Japan for three years and would always prefer a (classy) hotel. As would most Japanese.

    It’s a really neat experience but I wouldn’t go it again for more than a night. I hit my head on many doorways and am certain that if I’d stayed longer I would have eventually fallen through a wall.

      Same here. Plus my knees were complaining about all the sleeping, eating, and sitting on the floor.
