- blondin 5y agoi wonder if one still maintains the copyright on public gists they publish? also, why isn't github using human readable URLs?
- kinjba11 5y agoI think privacy is one area where legislation should come into play. Depending on consumers to make educated decisions in the face of massive network effects and legions of highly paid engineers working to increase engagement for profit isn't going anywhere. And depending on corps to police themselves is asking for trouble.
- doggodaddo78 5y agoDirect democracy consensus isn't a valid form of policy-making because most individuals are clueless, incompetent, unethical, and ignorant.
- netizen-936824 5y agoOh cool I guess its great that we can have clueless people elect other clueless people to write shit legislation. Much better system. /s for all the clueless people
- doggodaddo78 5y agoThere are informed people who know policy issues, tradeoffs, and concerns. They're few and far between, and they rarely have a voice unless a corporate agenda decides to allow it.
