Anecdata: I spent 5 days in ICU in 2018 and had a $350k bill from a California hospital, which my insurance company paid $200k for after adjustments and discounts. I wouldn’t say $10m for 6 months is far off.
- seandoe 5y agoYea that sentence came off wrong. I don't doubt the OP's claim at all. I was trying to acknowledge that billing that amount to anyone isn't right and looking to make the point that healthcare is expensive and how "we" choose to allocate resources is an important discussion.
