- peter303 5y agoYes. This was known as a Dark Age when the quantity and quality of texts declined along with the strength of governments. As this book probably covers (I did not read it) this Dark Age has been blamed on everything from climate change, new disease, marauding sea peoples, iron weapons, etc.
- m0llusk 5y agoPotentially also relates to the Ribbonfarm analysis which posits that the Iron age may have overtaken the Bronze age in part because making useful quality iron tools was easier than perfecting bronze production which became limited by trade and keeping of secrets by artisans. https://www.ribbonfarm.com/2011/02/02/the-disruption-of-bronze/ https://www.ribbonfarm.com/2011/02/02/the-disruption-of-bron...
