Missing grandparents’ landline calling from collapsed condo, family says
- beprogrammed 5y agoThat's heart wrenching, a smashed and shorting phone line could call but not a specific and relevant number, could be the phone doing it, or some short code for calling the last number. Often time shorted lines will end up calling 911 by chance.
- aaron695 5y agoYes, a shorting phone might re-dial. Or an emergency alert bracelet attached to the phone line. It might be a sim based landline. The building also might use a PABX.

- 3np 5y agoWhat’s the context here? Why can’t someone go and investigate in person?
- spoonjim 5y agoBecause the calling phone is under thousands of slabs of concrete
- cbhl 5y agoThe key words in the headline are "collapsed condo" -- the reference is likely to this collapse that happened last week: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surfside_condominium_building_collapse https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surfside_condominium_building_...
- 3np 5y agoWhoa, that’s terrible, and eerie with the phone calls.
