- Koiwai 5y agoThanks for the information, but I persist, having a prior example doesn't necessarily mean they're not all morons. Of course you're free to have your opinion though.
- PradeetPatel 5y ago"Sunsetting" inspires the feeling of a new beginning, and positive sentiment than "deprecating". There's a lot of power to be had in being able to influence perceptions with using the right words.
- Koiwai 5y agoSunset is not a manned thing, gives me the impressing of God complex. Besides, I don't think we need a positive feeling here, "deprecate" is perfectly fine, may be a quoted "sunset" is more appropriate here.
- unethical_ban 5y agoIt's an established term. That's a fact. It's like calling all people a moron in America who use the term "truck" instead of "lorry". You're free to insult the intelligence of everyone who doesn't share your extremist minority opinion, though.
- Koiwai 5y agoInteresting, this do reminds me, I looked it up, it's indeed a US thing, thanks. https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/sunset https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/sunset https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/sunset_3 https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/eng... https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/sunset https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/sunset https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/sunset https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/sunset https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sunset https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sunset
