The theme park exemption for this attempted law is absolutely hilarious. It has no justification whatsoever other than helping Disney.
- jfengel 5y agoI don't exactly get how this helps Disney. Does Disney even have a social media web site? Was it looking to be able to block politicians in a way that would come afoul of this law? I'm sure in general Disney is happy to be exempt from any regulations just to save themselves the headache and keep its options open. But I'd imagine they called in some political favors to get this exemption, and I wonder why they didn't save those favors for something that matters more. (I do realize that favors don't work like currency, and don't get "spent" just once. Still, they ended up leaving really blatant fingerprints on something that I suspect they just don't want to be involved in.)
