You will find historical records of high temperature spikes. What matters as signal are clusters of high temperatures, and all-time highs.
We're going into high temperature thresholds beyond what is normal for the past 10K years. Almost every year from this point onwards are probably going to bring novelty about high temperatures.
However, we also DON'T want normalization of temperatures, back towards Ice Age levels. So humanity is in a tough squeeze now, preferably wanting stable levels somehow (if science can conclude that to be optimal).
It will be interesting if we can discover links between sun activity and climate as well:
