No wonder, they expected us to work through a global pandemic with mounting death and ignorance either in-person or remote with the same hours and expectations, and then called us 'heroes'. The economy isn't looking great and we were already just barely starting to get out of the _last_ recession that stated over a decade ago. University costs have been blown out of proportion, rent costs are skyrocketing, inflation is rampant, healthcare isn't a right and just gets more and more expensive. Productivity is higher than it's ever been, and wages are at their lowest. We have no federally required vacation days, and if you are lucky enough to have them they are less than a week a year. Of course we are burnt out. There has to be massive systemic change sooner or later, and hopefully sooner.
