Please add:
* Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (SICP)
- waynesonfire 5y agoGoes to show how poorly constructed this list is with this one missing.
- jhgb 5y agoIf you add SICP, you probably can't omit Concepts, Techniques, and Models of Computer Programming either.
- commandlinefan 5y agoIf you're going to add Concepts, Techniques, and Models of Computer Programming, you should add TAOCP as well.
- jhgb 5y agoNot quite sure how TAOCP relates to either of the former two. Those two books contain descriptions of architectural patterns, especially ones that are language-based.
- rapnie 5y agoPS. The MIT Press based book by Harold Abelson and Gerald Jay Sussman with Julie Sussman, foreword by Alan J. Perlis is CC-BY-SA-4.0 and available in 2nd edition as PDF here: https://web.mit.edu/alexmv/6.037/sicp.pdf https://web.mit.edu/alexmv/6.037/sicp.pdf
- leeuw01 5y agoAlthough an interesting book, does it really fit into one of the categories?
- keithb- 5y agoThat seems off topic. SICP is about understanding language, not architecture. That would be like saying you need to understand how SED and AWK would be implemented is Lisp before you try to write a script to use them together to parse a document.
- jhgb 5y agoSICP is to a large extent also about the interplay of language choices and architectural choices.
