America’s workers are exhausted and burned out- some employers are taking notice
- hinkley 5y agoMine hasn’t. I’m not entirely sure my coworkers have either, but I definitely have. Too many conversations I’ve started with “why am I the first person noticing this?” Especially since I’m missing some things too.
- klyrs 5y agoMine has. Their response is to crack the whip and insist that everybody come back to the office with less flexibility than before the pandemic. Wonder why our top talent keeps quitting
- airhead969 5y agoGTFO now. It will become a miserable second-stringers sausage factory if it isn't already.
- jet_32951 5y agoWhen I left my last employer - Fortune 50 systems integrator - my blood pressure dropped 50 mm Hg. It sneaks up on you. I will never do that again.
- drannex 5y agoNo wonder, they expected us to work through a global pandemic with mounting death and ignorance either in-person or remote with the same hours and expectations, and then called us 'heroes'. The economy isn't looking great and we were already just barely starting to get out of the _last_ recession that stated over a decade ago. University costs have been blown out of proportion, rent costs are skyrocketing, inflation is rampant, healthcare isn't a right and just gets more and more expensive. Productivity is higher than it's ever been, and wages are at their lowest. We have no federally required vacation days, and if you are lucky enough to have them they are less than a week a year. Of course we are burnt out. There has to be massive systemic change sooner or later, and hopefully sooner.
