One day I hope to find a music manager that allows arbitrary tagging that works just like labels in Gmail.

- mtoohig 5y agoI believe you can do this with beets. I have many fields for labeling songs by characteristics or personal preferences like `rating` then there is a plugin for smart playlists that let you define library queries and turn them into a playlist. Others are right though the initial set up can be daunting though.

- beart 5y agoIt's been a long time but I recall foobar2k, with a few plugins, provides this feature.
- brnt 5y agoI use the comment tag for this (of which you can have multiple).
