You can't capture the nuance of my form fields
- crtasm 5y ago> [on Linux+Firefox] If I double- or triple-click-and-hold, I can drag the mouse to expand the selection word-wise or line-wise, not just character-wise. This works with the paragraphs of text in the body of this blog post, too. Thank you and submitter, incredibly useful to learn this.
- jolmg 5y agoIt's not really a Firefox thing. It works on everything on Linux as far as I know, emacs, terminals, libreoffice writer, etc.
- merlinscholz 5y agoCan also confirm on Windows with Chromium-based browsers
- yesenadam 5y agoAlso works on Mac, in Firefox, bash, and I guess everywhere.
- gverrilla 5y agoI don't understand why if I double click 'word' in such a sentence it will select the empty space aswell instead of only the word: "a word blue" This is why most of the times I'll precisely select character-per-character to make sure no weird spaces are coming in aswell - a deeply engraved habit at this point.
- jolmg 5y agoYou're using Windows, right? I see it includes the space after the selected word. It doesn't make sense to me either. The blogpost refers to what happens on a Linux distro, though.
